Join us for free on 6/29 from 6-9 PM for the closing evening of ThanksTheodore's exhibition "Knowledge Is Power, But Only If It’s The Truth." It's been a memorable month of impactful conversations, inviting the audience to engage in discussions we're already having but maybe not enough of. Let’s continue to shed light on these important topics and join us for the evening to wrap up this intentionally curated space with ThanksTheodore.

Wear what you're comfortable in, but dress in all black! If you can’t make it on the 29th, sign up for his origami class on the 30th—space is limited  on 6/30 at $25 per person!

Artist Bio:
Thanks Theodore, also known as Theo Ball, is a multifaceted black artist native to the vibrant city of Indianapolis, with significant influences from his youth spent in Chicago. Throughout his formative years, Theo found solace and inspiration in art, which served as a powerful outlet for self-expression. Encouraged by influential art teachers, he honed his skills and embraced various mediums, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit by delving into painting and airbrushing clothes during high school.

Rooted in his transformative upbringing, Theo developed a unique artistic approach, often repurposing discarded materials to create thought-provoking pieces. His resourcefulness and ingenuity became integral to his artistic identity, transforming ordinary objects into extraordinary works of art.

Transitioning into his college years, Theo’s experiences working within the juvenile justice system profoundly shaped his artistic identity. Witnessing firsthand the struggles and triumphs of marginalized individuals, he channeled these experiences into his art, aiming to shed light on stories of resilience and adversity.

ThanksTheodore's talent and dedication have earned him recognition both locally and nationally. His work has been featured prominently in various events, including the Trill Grill Fest in Washington D.C., Legend of July Art and Fashion Show, Santiago Summers listening party, and the Butter series. Notably, he was commissioned to contribute to the NBA All-Star edition of Butter, further showcasing the versatility and depth of his artistic vision.

Through his compelling artwork, Theo continues to challenge perceptions, provoke thought, and spark dialogue. His unwavering commitment to authenticity and storytelling serves as a testament to the transformative power of art, inspiring audiences to see the world through a new lens. As he continues to push boundaries and break barriers, Thanks Theodore remains a vital voice within the Indianapolis arts community and beyond.
