1000 Words Gallery is excited to invite young creatives to participate in LIT (Literacy and Illustration for Transformation) - Youth Storytelling Through Art, a dynamic youth storytelling program that helps students turn their ideas, experiences, and imagination into original illustrated stories.

Through a series of engaging workshops, participants will explore creative writing, illustration, and storytelling, guided by professional artists and educators. Whether students are interested in writing or illustrating as a future career, or simply as a creative outlet, they will learn how to turn their creative ideas into a professionally published book.

This program is designed to help students build literacy skills, creativity, confidence, and self-expression while connecting with other young artists in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Parents and guardians are invited to attend a brief informational session to learn more about the program, meet the facilitators, and understand how their child can participate.

Students will have the opportunity to:

• Write and illustrate their own original stories

• Learn from professional artists and storytellers

• Build creative confidence and communication skills

• Share their work in a community celebration

This program is ideal for youth who enjoy drawing, storytelling, reading, or expressing their ideas creatively.
