Our Programs

Building creative pathways from first expression to professional practice.

1000 Words develops exhibitions, workforce initiatives, and community programs that empower artists, amplify neighborhood stories, and expand equitable access to the arts.

Where artists keep 100% of what they earn.

The Commission-Free Exhibition Series provides emerging artists with fully supported gallery exhibitions without the burden of sales commission. Selected artists receive professional installation, marketing support, and collector introductions — while retaining 100% of their artwork sales.

By removing financial barriers, this program helps artists build income, confidence, and real market access early in their careers.

Business of Art: Creative Workforce Accelerator

Turning creative talent into sustainable careers.

The Business of Art program equips emerging artists with the tools to navigate the professional art world. Through workshops and mentorship, participants learn pricing, branding, contracts, grant writing, and financial literacy — culminating in exhibition and sales opportunities.

This initiative supports artists in building viable, income-generating creative practices.

Youth Storytelling Through Art

Empowering young voices through visual and written narratives.

This cohort-based program guides youth through art making, creative writing, and mixed media storytelling. Participants explore identity, community, and lived experiences while producing original work published in a collective anthology and presented in a public exhibition.

The program builds literacy, creative confidence, and digital media skills.

Neighborhood Creative Placemaking INITIATIVE

Transforming spaces through community-driven art.

This initiative activates neighborhoods through murals, public art installations, art gardens, and cultural events. Residents collaborate with artists to co-create works that reflect local history, culture, and pride.

Creative placemaking strengthens community identity while increasing corridor vibrancy and engagement.
